Restoring Body Image & the Lies We’ve Believed
Nov 18, 2022 Season 1 Episode 9

Is your relationship with your body hijacking your identify in Christ?

Today, we are taking a deep scientific and Biblical look at body image and disordered eating and how these are connected with shame, safety, and control.

Lydia defines disordered eating as: anything that ignores our natural body cues that God gave us, causes us distress, or disconnects us from our natural relationship with our bodies.

We will take a look at the extremes of these scenarios and also the sneaky ways lies will creep into our perceptions of how food affects our day to day lives, and ultimately our identity in Christ.

An advanced warning that this episode will contain subjects related to eating disorders, body image, trauma, and self-harm. Please proceed listening with self awareness and feel free to skip around within the episode according to your personal needs.

MEET LYDIA VINAR:

Lydia desires to collaborate with her clients from a place of genuine connection with each other and the Holy Spirit as they build trust, identify and rebuild core beliefs, process with self-compassion, and learn to cultivate wholeness.

Lydia specializes in identity formation and self-worth; body image and eating disorders; core beliefs and attachment; emotional/mood regulation; life transitions; relationships; and self-harm. She values the whole self (spirit, soul, and body) and believes that we were made to live integrated, abundant lives that we thrive in and enjoy!

Lydia recently moved to Dallas, TX where she will begin practicing therapy this December with Crawford Clinics. Outside of work, she loves cooking with her husband, walking with her dog, and reading as much as she possibly can. Lydia is passionate about wholeness and excited about inspiring a new generation of young women to own their worth and identities in Christ.
